September 27th Field Trip to Whitland Abbey, Carmarthenshire.

Led by Dr John Davies. Whitland was the Mother House of Cwmhir but had two founding dates - as did Cwmhir. The earlier one for Cwmhir, 1143, is before the later one for Whitland in 1144. Does that mean that Cwmhir was, at one point, expected to be the main Mother house for all Wales? The Study Group will exploring this earlier history of Wales in it's two subsequent meetings in October and November - on the fourth Thursday of the Month in Llandrindod Wells. THIS WILL BE A SELF DRIVE/SHARE CAR TRIP.  PLEASE LET admin.studygroup@abbeycwmhirhistory.org.uk KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING AND WHETHER YOU WISH TO BE A DRIVER OR A PASSENGE ASAP.
